Delta Air Lines Reopens Dusty`s Dens for Summer Travel Season

ATLANTA,  May 21, 2002—Delta Air Lines’ (NYSE:DAL) is reopening Dusty’s Dens? beginning May 24 to assist children traveling alone during the summer travel season. Dusty’s Dens? provide a safe and comfortable place for children ages five to eleven, traveling alone, to relax between their connecting flights, or to wait for the designated person(s) meeting them at their final destination. Children visiting the Dens can enjoy refreshments, video equipment and reading materials during their stay.

Dusty’s Dens? are located in seven domestic airport locations—Atlanta, Cincinnati, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Los Angeles, New York (JFK), Orlando, and Salt Lake City. Dens are available during the summer travel season from May to September; and during the winter holidays, usually from December to February. Dusty’s Dens? generally are open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; hours of operation may vary by location.

“Dusty’s Dens? provide a convenient and reliable service to our customers when their children need to travel alone, ” said John Selvaggio, senior vice president, Delta Airport Customer Service.  “Customers have told us that this service is helpful and provides a level of comfort to both parents and children.”

Each of the Dens are closely monitored by specially trained Delta employees called Den Leaders.  These individuals supervise the facility, track flight status and escort unaccompanied minors to and from their flights.
