Northwest’s nwa.com Named Best Airline Web Site By Frequent Business Travelers


Northwest Airlines last week announced that its nwa.com Internet site was named å“Best Airline Web Siteå” by OAG International at the publicationå‘s 20th annual awards ceremony. The winners were selected based on a survey of frequent business travelers who are customers of OAG.

“Nwa.com makes it easy for business customers to plan their travel, check-in and obtain a boarding pass for their trip, track the status of their flight and take full advantage of Northwest’s WorldPerks program, including special services for those who have achieved Elite status” said Al Lenza, Northwest’s vice president of Distribution and E-Commerce. “All of us at Northwest are honored that OAG’s global audience of savvy and sophisticated business travelers have recognized nwa.com as the industry’s best airline Web site.”


Northwest’s nwa.com was just one of five sites from airlines throughout the world nominated for best airline Web site honors. The winner was announced earlier this week at an awards ceremony in London, England.


“The OAG Airline of the Year Awards publicly recognize the highest standards within the industry and all the nominees should feel exceptionally proud of their achievement, in what has been an extremely difficult year,” said Eddie Bell, Chairman of OAG. “These awards now provide a fitting opportunity for us to demonstrate our continuing support, to pay tribute to the industry’s strength and resilience and for the industry itself to celebrate its achievements.”

The OAG Airline of the Year awards program was established in 1982 to recognize and celebrate the achievements of airlines and airports around the globe. The awards are voted on by OAG’s worldwide audience of frequent business travelers. A total of 47 airlines and airports have received nominations in 19 different categories. Results are collated and analyzed by an independent market information company, Taylor Nelson Sofres.
