Planete Bleue: Two Million Young Globe-Trotters Fly the Routes of Air France

Every year, Air France carries close to two million young passengers between the ages of 0 and 12. 400,000 of them are children travelling alone to see friends and family in France and abroad, and 240,000 are infants: a clientele that warrants some very special attention. Even if the young adapt quickly and well to changes in their environment, they need to be prepared and cared for if their trip is to proceed smoothly; this includes both supervising those travelling alone and ensuring their comfort on board, in the interests of all. For Air France, young passengers are a top priority, and it is for them that the Company has designed “Planète Bleue”.

Created in 1993, Planète Bleue offers a complete range of complimentary services which guarantee personalized attention on the ground and in the air to young travellers up to the age of 12.

During the summer holidays, for example, Air France organizes special Planète Bleue events to occupy and entertain youngsters at Paris-CDG and Orly airports. Also during that period, Air France adds a “Family Helper” to the crews on flights most frequented by families, to see to their comfort.
As the summer season approaches, Air France recommends that passengers inform staff when booking flights that they will be travelling with an infant (from 0 to 2) or a child (from 2 to 12), so as to benefit from Planète Bleue service. In addition, they should find out now about any formalities, papers or vaccinations needed for the child`s trip.

For all information on Planète Bleue services and reservations, travellers can visit the Air France website at www.airfrance.com or dial 0 820 820 820, in France.
