ATA Announces New Service to Lexington, Ky.

INDIANAPOLIS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 13, 2002—ATA (American Trans Air, Inc.) (Nasdaq:AMTR), and Chicago Express Airlines, Inc. (doing business as ATA Connection), today announced plans to offer daily, non-stop round-trip service between Chicago-Midway Airport and Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Ky.

Beginning August 28, 2002, ATA Connection will operate four daily round-trip flights to Lexington giving customers convenient access through Chicago-Midway to most of the low-fare carrier`s business and leisure destinations. Customers can make reservations beginning today.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, ATA is offering special introductory fares. As with all ATA fares, there are no advance purchase or minimum stay requirements.
