ATA Proudly Sponsors Indianapolis 500 Driver Sarah Fisher

INDIANAPOLIS—(BUSINESS WIRE)—May 13, 2002—Indianapolis-based ATA (American Trans Air, Inc. Nasdaq:AMTR) today announced that it is the official airline sponsor of Indy Racing League driver Sarah Fisher for the upcoming and highly acclaimed Indianapolis 500 race. Fisher, an Indianapolis resident, is considered the most successful female driver in Motorsports history. The sponsorship includes displaying the ATA logo on Fisher`s car, uniform and helmet. Additionally, she will make promotional appearances, will be featured in some of ATA`s ads and will participate in joint community program opportunities.

Fisher, who is driving for Dreyer and Reinbold Racing, will drive the No. 23 Team Allegra Dreyer and Reinbold Racing Infiniti G Force racer, teaming with racing veteran, Robbie Buhl. This year, Fisher finished in fourth place at the Firestone 225 at Nazareth (PA), and was voted the Indy Racing League`s most popular driver in 2001. She is currently the IRL`s only female driver and became the youngest woman and the third youngest person to ever qualify for her first Indianapolis 500 in 2000.
