VANCOUVER, May 13 /CNW/ - Air Canada inaugurated today daily non-stop
service between Vancouver and Anchorage, Alaska when flight AC1096 left
Vancouver at 11:30 a.m. en route to the “Last Frontier” State. With the
introduction of the new route, Air Canada becomes the only carrier offering
daily non-stop service between the two cities, cutting existing travel time by
more than two hours.
To promote the new service, scheduled to operate until September 15, Air
Canada is offering a special mid-week fare of $299. In addition, the airline
is offering double Aeroplan miles when travelling round trip for the first
time on the new route between May 13 and July 13, 2002.
“We are excited about serving Anchorage for the first time by offering
the only daily non-stop flights between Vancouver and Alaska,” said Marc
Rosenberg, Vice President, Sales and Product Distribution. “This new route to
our 59th U.S. destination is in response to strong demand from the Alaska
cruise market running from May until September.”
