PHOENIX, May 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/—Travelers have become more
familiar with the security processes at airports since September and America
West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) has taken measures to ensure the processes are
executed thoroughly and expeditiously.  As a result, the airline is
recommending customers arrive at the airport just one hour prior to their
departure and as little as 45 minutes if they`re not checking baggage.

“We want to make sure our customers know that the security process is very
safe and efficient.  Under normal operating conditions, it should not take
them more than an hour to check-in and get to their gate—especially during
off peak travel periods,” said Anthony Mule, senior vice president, customer
service.
