FORT WORTH, Texas - As further indication of its commitment to the Caribbean, American Airlines announced today that it will begin service from Boston Logan International Airport to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos Islands, effective June 15.

American will serve these destinations with 134-seat Boeing 737 aircraft, featuring the added legroom of the airline`s “More Room Throughout Coach” interiors. The 737 is one of the newest aircraft in American’s fleet.

“The new service from Boston will provide customers in Haiti and Providenciales with access to important gateways in the United States, Europe and Asia through American and its oneworld® partners,” said Tom Gleason, vice president of Passenger Sales for American’s Eastern Division. “We are confident that this new service will help boost the economy of both islands. We continue to work actively with tourism organizations and the government to make the Caribbean more accessible to travelers.”

Every Saturday, the flight to Providenciales will depart from Boston at
9 a.m. and arrive at 12:40 p.m. The flight will then depart at 2:45 p.m. the same day for Boston and arrive at 6:21 p.m.

Every Saturday and Tuesday, the flight to Port-au-Prince will depart from Boston at 10 a.m. and arrive at 1:02 p.m. The flight will then depart at 2:12 p.m. the same day for Boston and arrive at 7:11 p.m.

American also serves Haiti and Providenciales from New York’s Kennedy airport and from Miami.
