US Airways and Arlington Convention & Visitors Service Team up to Attract more Visitors to the Washi

ARLINGTON, Va., April 19, 2002—US Airways and the Arlington, Va., Convention and Visitors Service have launched a joint initiative designed to attract more visitors to the Washington region through the introduction of special weekend airline and hotel rates, which are available only online.


Under this sale, customers can travel on specially discounted fares for tickets purchased through usairways.com. Details on special hotel rates and great places to visit in our nation’s Capital and Northern Virginia can be found at http://www.stayarlington.com/usairways.htm.


The extended weekend fares are valid for travel to and from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and more than 160 cities in the U.S. To qualify for these bargain sale fares, customers must originate travel any Thursday through Saturday, and return Sunday through Tuesday, with all travel completed during the same weekend. Tickets must be purchased at least 14 days before departure, no later than April 25, 2002, with all travel completed by midnight, June 25, 2002. One Saturday night stay is required.

Fares listed require roundtrip travel in Coach Class. Depending on travel needs, flights may be available at the same fares with part or all of the service on regional aircraft operated by US Airways Express carriers Allegheny Airlines, Air Midwest, CCAIR, Chautauqua Airlines, Colgan Air, Mesa, Piedmont Airlines, PSA, Shuttle America or Trans States Airlines.


Tickets become nonrefundable 24 hours after making initial reservations and under certain conditions can be changed for a minimum $100 fee, plus the difference between the two fares, if applicable.


Fares do not include a $3 federal excise tax, which will be added to each flight segment of each itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. These sale fares do not include passenger facility charges of up to $18, where applicable, and the September 11 security fee of up to $10 per itinerary. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights at all times and schedules are subject to change.


These sale fares are not available in every market or on all Washington, D.C. routes. Travel is valid to or from Reagan Washington National airport only. Other conditions may apply. These fares may not always be lower than other US Airways Washington, D.C. fares.
