US Airways is once again offering its popular extended weekend “GoFares” for Charlotte, N.C., travel, exclusively for purchase on the airline’s Web site at usairways.com. The program is in support of the Visit Charlotte campaign developed by the city of Charlotte and the Charlotte Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Under the sale, customers now can travel on fares priced as low as $138 roundtrip from some cities when tickets are purchased online. Go to http://www.visitcharlotte.org/ promotions.htm for full details on special two-for-one hotel offers and information on great deals for things to do in Charlotte.
The extended weekend fares are valid for travel from over 80 cities in the U.S. with nonstop flights to US Airways’ hub at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. To qualify for these attractive fares, customers’ travel must originate any Thursday through Saturday and return Sunday through Tuesday, with all travel completed during the same weekend. The offer is available for travel through Aug. 6, 2002, and tickets must be purchased by April 22, 2002. One Saturday night stay is required.
“US Airways looks forward to continuing our relationship with Charlotte to introduce this premier southern city to visitors from around the globe,” said Stephen M. Usery, US Airways’ vice president of marketing and revenue management. “This is just another step to boosting tourism and revitalizing the Charlotte economy.”
“This is one more example of the growing partnership between Charlotte, the Convention and Visitors Bureau and US Airways,” said Kim Rickwood, vice president marketing and partnership development with the Charlotte Convention and Visitors Bureau. “There is a good deal to do and see in Charlotte this spring and summer, so we invite everyone to take advantage of our promotional offers and visit Charlotte.”
Tickets become nonrefundable 24 hours after making initial reservations and under certain conditions can be changed for a minimum $100 fee, plus the difference between the two fares, if applicable.
Fares do not include a $3 federal excise tax, which will be added to each flight segment of each itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. These sale fares do not include passenger facility charges of up to $9, where applicable, and the September 11th security fee of $5 per itinerary. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights at all times and schedules are subject to change.
These sale fares are not available in every market or on all Charlotte routes. Other conditions may apply. These fares may not always be lower than other US Airways Charlotte fares and are valid only on nonstop flights.
