American Airlines Launches New Advertising Campaign - Campaign Depicts Dedication, Loyalty And Commi

FORT WORTH, Texas - American Airlines’ newest advertising campaign features American employees capturing the spirit, professionalism and unwavering pride of the world’s largest airline.


“The theme ‘American Pride’ says it all,” said Mike Gunn, executive vice president - Marketing and Planning for American. “We’re debuting these ads during the Olympics to show the world how proud we are of our airline, our people and the contribution we make to our American way of life.”


The two 60-second commercials - “Engine” and “Way of Life” - were produced by Temerlin McClain to “showcase the intangible elements that define the American Airlines brand,” said Bill Oakley, creative director, Temerlin McClain.


“The people of American Airlines have been an inspiration. They are true airline people who hold themselves to incredibly high standards. Through footage of actual employees we sought to capture the leadership, pride and loyalty that are the very essence of what American Airlines stands for.”


The ads break in seven markets on Feb.14, including Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and St. Louis. Programming will include the 2002 Winter Olympics and the NCAA Championship series. Spots on national cable will begin airing on Feb. 18 on premium, high-profile networks such as CNN, CNBC, A&E and The History Channel.
