Delta Air Lines (DAL) has enhanced its online 800-Mile Segment Upgrade option for Medallion-level SkyMiles members.
Medallion members, Delta`s most frequent customers, now can log in at delta.com and check upgrade availability prior to booking a flight. In the same transaction, members also can confirm the upgrade*, select a seat and purchase a ticket.
“This new technology is one way Delta is making travel more efficient and convenient for our Medallion members,” said Rob Borden, Delta`s general manager of SkyMiles Customer Loyalty Programs. “The opportunity to view upgrade availability before booking a flight is a tremendous benefit that offers our customers more choices.”
Additionally, the online 800-Mile Segment Upgrade option allows customers to upgrade existing reservations or be placed on the waitlist if their confirmed flight is sold out in the requested upgrade class of service. They also may review waitlist status and the number of points required to upgrade each flight segment.
SkyMiles members can manage their accounts online at delta.com by checking mileage balances, updating personal information such as address and telephone numbers and reviewing SkyMiles activity. Members may choose to receive their monthly statements electronically instead of by mail. Online statements provide access to month-by-month and six-month summaries of account activity as well as the SkyMiles Newsletter, program and partner offers, delta promotions and updates. SkyMiles members also may choose to receive email promotional offers, redeem miles for Award Travel, review and update existing flight itineraries and assign or change seat selection online. Medallion members may use delta.com to check in for flights using Virtual Check-In. Delta provides the complete SkyMiles program Member Guide on delta.com .
