e-Travel, a global business unit of Amadeus and a
leading provider of online travel technology, today launches a major new
version of its ASP-based Planitgo Suite, which powers: 40 airline web sites,
including Air France, Iberia, and Qantas; the European airline-owned travel
portal Opodo and over 3000 travel agency sites.
Available in June 2002,
Planitgo v7.0 will enable travel suppliers and agencies to gain
valuable economies-of-scale and increased profitability levels.
Planitgo Suite v7.0, which is available in 21 languages (with the recent
addition of Arabic, Polish, and Korean), offers a host of new benefits,
* Enhanced levels of scalability, performance and overall reliability.
The new Java framework accelerates response time by a factor of three over
the previous release (for real-time availability pages).
* By splitting the business logic, presentation and connection layers
and incorporating a GDS-neutral framework, Planitgo`s new J2EE architecture
offers unprecedented flexibility to customise travel portals and integrate
existing legacy applications. e-commerce players can now capture new markets
with fewer booking engines, meaning significant cost savings.
* New content and marketing features in Planitgo Suite v7.0 enable
business executives to generate more revenues through enhanced
merchandising. New fare features include enhanced low-fare search
capabilities (through Amadeus Value Pricer) and an improved framework for
special offers and redemption. Additional content includes fly-and-drive,
insurance, dynamic access for car rental companies and hotels, new hotel
search, and direct access transactions for airlines.
* Over its enhanced XML interface, Planitgo allows administrators new
ways to dynamically manage the booking process. For instance, Web sites can
now adapt in real-time to the needs of profiled travellers, by offering them
relevant options such as point-of-sale, payment possibilities and delivery
methods, all in one booking application.
This new release of Planitgo represents the ideal solution for airlines,
hotel chains, and agencies to quickly and cost-efficiently set up and easily
deploy online solutions worldwide. Travel portals can be set up within just
a few weeks yet be fully customised, through drawing upon over 1,000
different parameters. For the first time, portal administrators and
marketing executives can also dynamically apply travel business rules
impacting the travel flow and logic within any particular booking session.
