25th Mar 1999

Versions in both English and Finnish have been opened of a Finnair aviation medical page on the Finnair Internet site, World Wide Wings ( or ). Finnair is one of the first airlines in the world to include medical pages on its Internet site.

In the pages, the company doctor Pekka Oksanen gives information about, for example, various illnesses, vaccinations, and in-flight first aid procedures. There is also information about air filtration and circulation in passenger cabins, and answers to questions about, for instance, the safety aspects of flying during pregnancy. The pages also include other basic medical tips for travellers.

The pages will be developed and updated continuously to deal with matters of interest to air passengers. Direct replies are also possible to the doctor himself.
