Worldspan and Travelsavers team up to offer web-based branded reservations system

New TRAVELSAVERS Res solution uses exclusive WORLDSPAN technology to deliver the latest rates, specials and promotions directly to member agencies’ desktops.
WORLDSPAN and TRAVELSAVERS today announced an agreement that will enable TRAVELSAVERS member travel agencies to utilize a new Web-based customized reservations product designed to offer agents a wider selection of travel options, including special rates, packages and time-sensitive promotions. Developed jointly by WORLDSPAN and TRAVELSAVERS, TRAVELSAVERS Res uses the Internet to link travel agents directly to TRAVELSAVERS’ database of preferred vendors and the WORLDSPAN reservations system, guaranteeing agents instant access to the information and booking tools they need to serve clients more effectively.
Built on proven WORLDSPAN GO!SM system architecture and employing the Frame Relay communications network, TRAVELSAVERS Res incorporates the latest Internet technology and represents an important new branded marketing channel for TRAVELSAVERS, its 2,400 travel agency members and its network of preferred suppliers.
With TRAVELSAVERS Res, travel agents receive up-to-the-minute travel data delivered right to their desktop, including timely information on specially negotiated TRAVELSAVERS rates for air, car and hotel, as well as tour, cruise and vacation packages. Drawing from TRAVELSAVERS preferred content, agents can quickly and easily find and book the best deals for their clients. And because TRAVELSAVERS Res is Web-based, information is updated continuously so it is always fresh and current.
In addition, TRAVELSAVERS Res gives travel agents direct access to WORLDSPAN GO!, WORLDSPAN’s acclaimed technology platform. From the GO! platform, agents can link via the Internet to still more travel supplier databases worldwide, gaining instant access to a broader spectrum of travel planning options. Moreover, WORLDSPAN GO! offers worldwide e-mail and fax communications capabilities, WORLDSPAN preferred content and online tutorials, all in a single integrated system.
