AMC, the premiere 24-hour movie network, have announced an alliance with 11thHourVacations.com
, the definitive source for themed
travel packages as well as last minute travel specials.
The affiliation will provide movie fans with access to a variety of travel packages associated with Hollywood, celebrities and films.
The themed packages will be available through AMCTV.com, with the travel portion of the site powered
by 11thHourVacations.com. Packages include such jaunts as a trip to Memphis,
Tennessee where visitors can explore the many haunts of Blues Great B.B.
King, or Elvis fans can visit Graceland. In England, travelers can take
a fully escorted tour to movie locations across the English countryside.
While in Las Vegas, Star Trek fans can engage in an interactive
experience where they revel in all the weaponry, costumes and technology of the series. Other trips include Hollywood, where stargazers can stroll the
Walk of Fame, uncover celebrities` favorite bars and restaurants, or
simply shop like a star on Rodeo Drive.
In addition to these movie-driven packages, travelers can also choose
from over 4 million negotiated airfares, 54,000 hotels, 48 car rental companies, and over 2 million vacation packages and cruises.
“Through our new association with AMC, we`re providing consumers a
variety of value-added packages with a move-twist,” states Mike Putman,
president of 11thHourVacations.com. “Now travelers can economically travel to the site of their favorite movie, or visit Hollywood for less. AMC`s
viewers were the ideal audience for these specialized vacations.”
“AMC is proud to align itself with 11thHourVacations.com and provide our fans with an amazing movie-travel experience,” said Tom Barreca, senior vice president, new media and development, AMC Digital Ventures.
“Nobody packages themed elements of a vacation around a movie like our partners
at 11thHourVacations.com. They deliver creativity, value and above all, fun
for people who love movies.”
Other travel packages on the horizon will include vacations featuring studio tours, destinations where the stars travel, and even a `movie camp,` where travelers can learn how to make their own movies.
