Priceline to Expand UK Ad Campaign

has announced that it is expanding its use of world-famous actor and longtime
Priceline.com celebrity spokesman William Shatner to include a new advertising
campaign /news_display.asp?id=3865launched Monday
in the UK.


The ad campaign is priceline.com`s second new marketing
initiative this week.
On Monday, priceline.com announced the U.S. launch of a new Name Your Own
Price(sm) service that enables consumers to customize their own vacation
packages.


The UK radio spots featuring Shatner and his sidekick, the priceline Super
Computer, promote priceline.co.uk, the London-based Internet service that sells
leisure airline tickets, hotel rooms and rental cars. Priceline.co.uk is
majority-owned by priceline.com.


The advertisements, which were produced in-house, build on the “I Think,
Therefore I Save” priceline.com radio campaign currently running in the U.S.
“William Shatner is as much a fixture in UK households as he is in the U.S.,”
said priceline.com Chief Marketing Officer Brett Keller. “We`re delighted to
bring his instantly recognizable persona to the UK media in this fun, exciting
new advertising campaign.”
