Extensity Signs Incyte Pharmaceuticals as Travel Cost Management Customer

Extensity, Inc. today announced the addition of Incyte Pharmaceuticals as a customer of its ExtensityTM Expense Reports operational cost management application. Incyte, a Palo Alto, Calif. developer of genomic information-based tools for drug discovery and development, will implement Extensity Expense Reports to replace current paper-based methods for processing travel expense reporting, audit, and payments. Extensity Expense Reports is the first application in Extensity’s suite of Web-based enterprise applications delivering process efficiencies and savings for the major operational costs facing corporations.

In its initial implementation, Incyte will use Extensity Expense Reports to automate a manual travel expense reporting, approval, audit, and reimbursement process. Developed entirely in Java, the application’s Internet-based architecture and easy-to-use graphical user interface enable rapid deployment and low administrative overhead. Extensity Expense Reports can accept data feeds from corporate credit cards such as American Express or Visa downloaded directly into the application by travelers, while the server module integrates seamlessly with other applications already in use by the customer for accounting, personnel, and other enterprise computing functions.

Enabling real-time control for managers and auditors while facilitating the reimbursement process for Incyte’s travelers, Extensity Expense Reports will be instrumental in Incyte’s plans to implement a more efficient, employee-friendly reimbursement process. Extensity Expense Reports are expected to reduce the time to process the company’s expenses by as much as 75%. Currently undergoing dramatic company growth, Incyte will also leverage Extensity Expense Reports to integrate the reimbursement processes of several recently-acquired companies.

“When we evaluated travel expense automation software, Extensity’s Web-based approach to cost management was Incyte’s first choice,” says Incyte Director of Finance William Delaney. “We wanted a solution that supported the best possible customer service for our employees. Using Extensity Expense Reports, we can cut down the paper work and get reimbursement into employees’ accounts quickly. Extensity’s comprehensive vision for cost management, as demonstrated by their full application suite, shows their responsiveness to our cost management needs.” Also cited in Incyte’s decision were the robust, database-driven workflow of Extensity Expense Reports, as well as a streamlined deployment process enabling full implementation in under 90 days.

Says Extensity Founder, President, and CEO Sharam Sasson, “We’re pleased that Incyte has chosen us for this implementation. By replacing Incyte’s current methods with a single integrated solution, Extensity Expense Reports will help them achieve a more efficient travel expense reimbursement process while delivering savings. It’s an ideal illustration of the benefits a Web-based enterprise application can deliver a large, diverse organization in terms of performance, scalability, interoperability, and low total cost of ownership.”
