New Online Promotional Strategy from Airtran

AirTran Airways
has changed its online promotional strategy from always offering $5 discounts off any fare purchased at to targeted market discounts.

The airline will distribute these targeted market discounts through its Net Escapes
e-mail program.

Kevin Healy, AirTran Airways` vice president of planning and sales, said “Based on our consumer learning, we believe it is more prudent to offer targeted market discounts to consumers when appropriate rather than the across-the-board approach.”
