has announced that full-year operating profits are up 300%.
Operating profits in the year to the end of March were £17 million, up from £4.2 million last year. Turnover was up 46% to £233.7 million and passenger numbers increased by 55% to 4.27 million.
Go experienced a 20% drop in passenger numbers immediately after September 11, but bookings recovered steadily afterwards.
Commenting on the results, Chief executive Barbara Cassani
said: “These are tremendous results for Go. This strong performance, continuing month over month, is reflected in April`s traffic figures, with a 79% increase in passengers year-on-year.”
She added: “I am proud of everyone at Go for building such a successful business.”
The company is currently at an advanced stage in talks
with easyJet over a possible takeover.
