, market leader of cruise holidays in the UK has signed up with Amadeus, a leading global distribution system (GDS) and technology provider to the travel industry. It will be the latest customer for the Amadeus Cruise sales and reservation system.
From 26 May, P&O Cruises will, for the first time, have an online presence that will allow travel agents to check availability and reserve all P&O Cruises services via the web-based Amadeus Cruise system. In addition to this, Princess Cruises sister line to P&O Cruises, Swan Hellenic the UK leader in discovery cruise holidays and Ocean Village, the new informal cruise brand will also be made available via Amadeus Cruise by the end of the year.
will significantly expand the potential sales market for P&O Cruises by providing online access to travel agents across the country. Prior to now, travel agents wishing to book a cruise through P&O Cruises would have had to do so via a telephone call centre, which could be time consuming during busy periods.

We have worked hard with Amadeus to meet, and exceed, both of these requirements and look forward to continuing to build our online presence.”
