New Appointment for Worldspan


   

 

Worldspan
today announced the
appointment of Gino Rodriguez Arnaiz to the position of Country Manager -
Peru. 
In his new post, Rodriguez is responsible for continuing to build
Worldspan`s share of the Peruvian travel agency market, as well as managing
customer support functions and forging closer relationships with new and
existing travel supplier partners in Peru.  Rodriguez is based in Lima and
reports to Dominique Masseran, vice president - Latin America, Mexico and the
Caribbean.
 
“With more than 20 years` experience in global airline operations, Gino
Rodriguez can provide the leadership, dedication and expertise needed to
expand and enhance Worldspan`s presence in Peru,” commented Masseran in
announcing the appointment.  “His vision and strategic thinking are a good
match with Worldspan, and we are very pleased to have Gino lead our Peru
operations.”

the country`s travel industry needs in order to grow,” said Mike Parks, senior
vice president and general manager - Worldwide Travel Distribution for
Worldspan.  “We are confident that Gino Rodriguez will carry on that mission
with the same enthusiasm and know-how he`s shown throughout his long and
successful career.”
 
Prior to joining Worldspan, Rodriguez operated his own consulting
business, providing professional services to Latin American air carriers and
other travel companies.  From 1995 to 2000, he served as Country Manager Peru
for United Airlines, where he was responsible for the startup of the carrier`s
Peruvian operation.  Previously, as Sales Manager Brazil for United, Rodriguez
promoted and distributed the airline`s overall product and services in Brazil.
 
Over his 22-year career, Rodriguez has also held sales and customer
service positions with American Airlines, Eastern Airlines and Braniff
International.
