Sabre Holdings Corp. today announced it has signed an agreement with Motorola to power its Mobile Office Solution with travel and ticketing capabilities for mobile professionals. Motorola is integrating Sabre`s wireless travel services as part of its Travel Connector component of the Mobile Office Solution.
Sabre`s wireless travel services add to Motorola`s Mobile Office Solution by giving business travelers the ability to access updated travel information through any WAP/HTML enabled wireless device.
In a separate but related announcement today, Motorola that its Mobile Office Solution has been extended to include travel and ticketing capabilities. This enhancement, called the Travel Connector, allows business users to manage their travel needs using a WAP/HTML enabled wireless device, thereby extending key benefits of a corporate enterprise, such as company-negotiated rates for travel, to those who are on the go. Motorola said this is the wireless industry`s first solution to integrate corporate travel information, corporate e-mail, calendar, address book and an enterprise portal in a single package.
In making the announcements, the Sabre and Motorola cited a recent study by PMP Research, a U.K.-based firm, estimates that 65 percent of enterprises are considering providing wireless access to e-mail. With the travel services that Sabre and Motorola intend to provide, enterprises with wireless access to e-mail will further be able to cut corporate costs and increase employee productivity.
At any time, business travelers will be able to:
Receive alerts for flight delays, cancellations and gate changes as
well as receive trip reminder information.
Access time schedules, flight numbers, gate numbers, weather
conditions and other general flight information.
Create reservations for airlines, hotels or car rentals.
View or cancel existing travel reservations.
With the addition of the Sabre service, Motorola is extending its Mobile Office Solution to allow business travelers to manage travel needs and access travel information along with access to corporate e-mail, calendars, address books and restaurant information from mobile phones.

Sabre`s GDS will connect corporate employees to travel agents and its system of more than 440 airlines, 50,000 hotels and 50 car rental companies. Sabre`s highly developed back-end systems will be able to handle multiple simultaneous travel requests efficiently and quickly. It will also support travel requests and information delivery in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch.

Mobile Office is now available to business users from Motorola and selected wireless network operators and value added resellers. Mobile Office Solution presently provides mobile professionals the communication and management tools to be productive outside of the office, by enabling access to corporate email, calendars, and address books, directly from a mobile phone.
