Corporations Recognized for Exceptional Online Travel Programs

GetThere, a Sabre company, has announced that it recognized ten companies for their exceptional use of online corporate travel programs. The companies were recognized at the annual GetThere Summit, held this year in Dallas, Texas.

Some of the companies recognized included Cisco Systems, Inc., Countrywide Home Loans, i2 Technologies, Inc., Liberty Mutual Group, Motorola, Inc., SBC Communications, Inc., and Xerox Corporation. Recipients were recognized in the following categories:

Fast Track Adoption. Businesses that have a high percentage of corporate travelers using GetThere online technology to make travel reservations. Some of these recipients reached adoption levels between 70 and 80 percent within a time frame of six months or less after implementation.

Most Comprehensive Travel Program. Corporations that have used GetThere technology to expand globally, create sites for various business units, or to integrate travel with other online corporate applications.

Best Rollouts. Corporations who have taken a well-planned and strategic approach to successfully rolling out the GetThere system or laid the groundwork for new programs, such as for the e-fulfillment of travel bookings.

“We were very methodical in rolling out our online travel program with goals, target dates, and specific work assignments,” said Daniel Raynard, vice president of corporate travel at Countrywide Home Loans. “What helped us succeed and capture senior management`s attention was the immediate savings generated by lower ticket prices and increased productivity by our staff. It was a win-win situation for everyone.”

“It was not long ago that online booking technology was a novel concept for corporate travel programs,” said Rosemarie Moskow, director of Strategic Procurement Systems and Services at SBC Communications, Inc. “Today, online booking is an invaluable part of SBC`s e-procurement program and a critical reason as to why we`ve been able to dramatically reduce our travel expenses.”

“Our travel-booking site is part of an integrated, comprehensive travel program that lets Xerox`s travel team easily manage the entire process - from booking to expense reimbursement - online,” said Pamela Ferranti, travel agency manager at Xerox Corporation.
