Travelocity to charge Service fee on United tickets

25th Mar 2002 began charging a $10 per ticket service fee on United tickets in the absence of a marketing agreement.

In recent months, Travelocity
has revealed marketing pacts with Northwest, Continental and Delta, which, of course, have all eliminated commissions in the past few days.

Asked if Travelocity receives cash - as opposed to indirect compensation - for selling these carriers tickets, a Travelocity spokesman said: “That`s a general detail that`s correct.”
