Five Airports Order Identix Live Scan Systems

Identix Incorporated has received orders from a further five airports for its Identix Live Scan TouchPrint 2000 Applicant Fingerprint Systems (TP 2000 AFS).

The Identix Live Scan Systems will be used to assist the airports in complying with the employee background check requirements of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act. Installation of all of the systems is expected to take place by the end of March 2002.


Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids, MI; California`s Monterey Peninsula Airport; Albany International Airport in New York; Virginia`s Richmond International Airport; and The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids have each ordered one Identix TP 2000 AFS.


On February 22, 2002, Identix announced that it entered into a definitive merger of equals agreement with Visionics Corporation for an all-stock transaction. Identix and Visionics plan to file a joint proxy statement/prospectus with the SEC in connection with the transaction containing information about each respective company, the transaction and related matters. The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions, including regulatory approvals and the approval of Visionics and Identix shareholders, and is currently expected to close in the calendar quarter ending June 30, 2002.
