Amadeus, a leading global distribution system
(GDS) and travel industry technology provider, will launch the pioneer
Travel Technology Partners Programme, in May 2002, to facilitate the entry
and growth of travel software houses in the global marketplace.
programme will also extend the reach of Amadeus through third parties,
thereby maximising the company`s resources and service delivery.
The Travel Technology Partners Programme is aimed at software houses that
are developing on the Amadeus API (Application Programming Interface) and
distribute their products at an international level. The Amadeus API is an
application that allows software houses to build applications that
transparently access the Amadeus global distribution system.
The solutions provided by these software houses, e.g. TRX
or Easy T
- who have successfully implemented the Amadeus API - address growing market
needs such as Internet travel booking, quality control and corporate direct
booking. The new programme aims at enabling Amadeus and these software
houses to implement products faster and more effectively, at a global level.
The nature of the Amadeus worldwide network will allow the programme to
combine the advantages of global coordination with strong local support.
The Travel Technology Partners Programme will provide services and processes
in the areas of marketing, sales, accounting and technical support. These
include global contracts and implementation processes, a recommendation
programme, forums to exchange information such as a user group and a private
web site, direct technology contacts and quality statistics provided by
Amadeus. To ensure maximum adaptability, the programme will be executed to
satisfy local needs.
