African-American city-centric, travel and tourism content provider Souljourn, has formed a strategic relationship with Citysearch, a market leader in providing comprehensive, locally developed online city guides to launch Souljourn.Citysearch.com.
Souljourn.Citysearch.com provides a convenient vehicle for business, leisure and convention travelers as well as city dwellers to access culturally-relevant information on Black culture, including restaurants, night clubs, theaters, museums and art galleries. The site`s initial content will focus on the historically rich cities of New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago with additional cities being integrated throughout the year.
Souljourn CEO & Editorial Director Patrick Christofer Riley said, “During Black History Month, especially, it is important for all Americans to have an online destination to point and click their way to an enriched cultural and historical experience.”
In addition, through the unique partnership, Citysearch is publishing Black History Month “Round-Ups” using Souljourn`s content, which provide detailed information on a plethora of cultural activities to enhance the Black History Month experience for tourists and residents in each city to help stimulate the travel sector.
Riley added that the site will re-launch in April, coinciding with the beginning of the U.S. travel and tourism season. Souljourn`s future plans, independent of Citysearch, also call for the online content to move offline in the form of printed, Souljourn City Guide Magazines, its flagship product.
Souljourn City Guides are produced in partnership with city and state tourism bureaus, hotels and African American conferences and conventions. More than 250,000 copies of each guide will be printed and distributed free of charge. Souljourn plans to print these guides in cities domestically and internationally. The first guides will be for New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago.
Souljourn is a multi-media holding company headquartered in New York City. Employing a range of strategic partnerships, Souljourn serves as “a beacon in the world of travel” to reach a $35 billion untapped and thriving African-American travel and tourism market by providing timely and comprehensive content distribution.
