While skiers and snowboarders share the mountain, they don`t necessarily have the same opinions and interests, according to a new poll by Travelocity.com (Nasdaq: TVLY), the most popular travel site on the Web.
In addition, survey participants rank Vail, Colo., as their top ideal winter sports destination, and Whistler, Canada, as their No. 1 favorite newcomer locale.

In a January 2002 survey, more than 7,000 Travelocity.com members responded to various questions about winter sports vacations. Several of the interesting findings from the poll shed light on the differences between skiers and snowboarders. 

Travelocity.com requested survey participation via one of the company`s regular e-mail newsletters. Data was collected from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23, 2002. More than 7,000 members participated. To ensure data quality, duplicated responses were omitted from final findings.
