Site Enhancements for Marriott.com.

Marriott.com has added more search options to make it easier for the site`s five million monthly visitors to find and book their hotel rooms.
By simply entering their desired destination and date, customers automatically receive a list of all Marriott hotels in a city across the company`s 13 lodging brands, with specific rate ranges. By selecting “More Search Options” under “Find and Reserve,” customers can perform a wider search based on other preferences, such as proximity to the airport and high-speed internet access availability.


“Marriott.com is the first hotel web site to provide customers with simultaneous searching of availability and rates across an inventory of more than 2,400 hotels,” says Bruce Wolff, senior vice president of distribution sales and marketing for Marriott Lodging.


The enhanced features are a direct response to customer feedback and are already generating favorable comments. In an e-mail, one customer wrote, “Being able to see price ranges when searching a particular city is one of the best tools I have seen on a hotel site yet! It saves so much time.”


To provide one-stop travel planning, Marriott.com has also added special Escape! Packages, ranging from romance and fine dining to sports and spa getaways at participating hotels. As an example, the “Romance Package” treats couples to extra-special amenities, which may include champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries and breakfast-for-two, when they book their accommodations.


Rates on Marriott.com are generated directly from Marriott International`s central reservation system and are also available through the company`s toll-free reservation number, travel agents and by calling a hotel directly. More than three-quarters of Marriott`s total internet bookings are generated through Marriott.com, which booked more than five million room nights last year.
