For the first time, a Cuban-based tourism official will attend Caribbean Week in
New York May 28 to 31, hosted by the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Orlando
Rangel Delgado, the coordinator of international affairs in Cuba`s Ministry of
Tourism, secured a United States visa to attend the four-day event. The CTO has
tried to get permission since Cuba joined CTO in 1992, but up until now efforts
have failed. Delgado is one of 50 individuals who will be honored by CTO for
contributions to travel and tourism in the region.
