United Airlines is the latest airline to provide estimated wait times at airports online.

The new on-line feature is to offer airport security line wait information, just in time to help holiday travelers plan sufficient time to pass through the airport security for their flights.

“This is one of several initiatives United has taken to make holiday travel smoother for our customers,” said Pete McDonald, senior vice president-Airport Services. “Barring severe weather, we are anticipating a good Christmas/New Year`s travel season with full staffing at our airports, efficient customer transit through security checkpoints and on-time flights—just as we had over Thanksgiving.” To access this airport information, customers should click on Airport Services under Travel Support, then click on United Airport Check-in Information. Delta Air Lines introduced a similar service on their Web site in November.
