DEMA opening show set to be big

Kicking off DEMA Show 2003 in Miami Beach, FL, the Show’s official opening and ribbon cutting will take place October 8, 2003 and will feature the presentation of Keys to the City by the Mayor of Miami Beach.

David Dermer, Mayor of Miami Beach, will present Keys to the City to Robert Hollis, President of the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association (DEMA) and Tom Ingram, Executive Director of DEMA. The key presentation will take place alongside the ribbon cutting ceremony at 9:58 a.m., officially opening the Show at 10:00 a.m.

The opening will take place in the registration area within Hall C of the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach. Following the ribbon cutting and key presentation, Show attendees will be ushered onto the Show floor for an initial walk with DEMA’s President and Executive Director.

“We are extremely pleased that Mayor Dermer will be on hand when we officially open DEMA Show 2003,” said Tom Ingram, Executive Director of DEMA.
“We believe that it is important to involve the Show’s host city and this is one of the most fitting ways that I can think of to do so. Additionally I am honored that the Mayor has chosen to present Mr. Hollis and myself with Keys to the City; we look forward to receiving them.”
