This autumn many of the Riviera Maya’s hotels are offering special deals and packages for families, couples and people in the military. Additionally many hotels are unveiling new facilities.
The all inclusive Xpu-Há Palace, Moon Palace Golf Resort and the adults-only Aventura Spa Palace are offering complimentary wedding packages. The packages include a beautifully decorated gazebo for the ceremony; all document arrangements and legal fees, justice of the peace; domestic champagne for guests at ceremony; dinner reservations for the wedding party; breakfast in bed the morning after the wedding; a red carpet for the bride to walk on; wedding coordinator and witnesses, if required. Superior and Deluxe wedding packages priced from US$1,299 in addition to the room rate are also available. Golf packages are also available at the new Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course at Moon Palace Golf Resort and at The Golf Club at Playacar.
The new Harmony Convention Center at the adults-only Aventura Spa Palace opened on April 1, 2003. The new conference center offers more than 55,000-square-feet of function space, with a maximum group capacity of 1,800 people. Aventura Spa Palace features 1,266 rooms with private balconies, double Jacuzzis and most with an oceanview, a full service spa with soothing treatments and an array of exquisite gourmet cuisine ranging from Oriental and Mediterranean to Mexican and vegetarian.
One of the newest members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Ikal del Mar, which means Poetry of the Sea in Mayan, is offering two special 5-night packages. “A Poetic Experience” Package includes accommodation in a Luxury Villa with private pool, daily breakfast and round-trip airport transfers and is priced at US$1,879. The “Poetic Sonnets by the Sea” Package includes accommodations in a Luxury Villa with private pool, daily breakfast, two body exfoliations (one per person), an Asparalove massage (for two) and round-trip airport transfers. The package is priced at $2,244. Both packages are available until December 20, 2003 and prices are per villa.
The 270-room five-star all inclusive Gran Porto Real Resort & Spa in Playa del Carmen, a Real Resort, is offering a selection of packages for honeymooners, families, divers as well as people looking to have a destination wedding. Until December 20, 2003 the resort is also extending a special 50% discount off published rates to all active duty military, active reservists, U.S. Coast Guard, National Guardsmen as well as all coalition forces serving with U.S. troops in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The all inclusive 234-room Viva Azteca and 400-room Viva Maya resorts in Playacar have expanded their dining options with the new off-property Viva Café, a modern Italian restaurant and bar located in Playa del Carmen. The first hotel company in Playacar to offer its guests an off-property dining option in Playa del Carmen the restaurant is open for dinner only and welcomes patrons not staying at the hotels. Viva Maya has also announced the opening of the Renova Spa for September 2003. The resorts are part of Viva Resorts, which has entered into a strategic alliance agreement with Wyndham International, Inc. Under the agreement, as of December 1, 2003, the properties will be re-branded as Viva Wyndham Resorts and incorporated into the Wyndham portfolio. At that time the resorts will be renamed Viva Wyndham Maya and Viva Wyndham Azteca.
