Grenada gets `Reel`

Grenada is home to some of the
best game fish waters in the Caribbean and there is no better place to catch a piece of the action than at the 35th Annual Spice Island Billfish Tournament, held on January 27th - January 30th, 2004.

Between November and June, migrating species of sailfish, white and blue
marlin, along with huge schools of yellow-fin tuna, converge on Grenada`s
east and west coasts providing some of the best game-fishing waters in the
world.

Over the years, the Spice Island Billfish Tournament has grown tremendously
and has attracted international recognition and participation. With prize
money of more than $100,000 E.C. (approximately $37,000.00 U.S.), the
largest purse for any sport in Grenada, the tournament attracts participants
from all over the world including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom,
Venezuela and the Caribbean.

The entry fee for participation is $100.00 U.S. per person and there is a
minimum of three anglers per boat and a maximum of six.  Participants can use their own boat or charter a boat from one of Grenada`s charter companies.
