The Occidental Allegro Playacar is heading into Autumn with a whole new look and showing off a fabulous facelift. The all-inclusive resort’s recent $5 million renovation boasts completely remodeled guestrooms, a new air-conditioning system and kiddies pool, a theatre overhaul that includes all new, state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems, and much more. A detailed list of the renovations to this four-star, Mayan Riviera getaway is as follows:
Guests will now enjoy the serotonin-boosting effects of sunshine indoors. All 296 guestrooms have been completely redesigned and now boast sun-kissed yellow walls with orange accents and all new furniture. The rooms also feature redesigned walk-in closet space and a hip bathroom complete with a modern, basin sink and hydro-spa bath.
The Kids Club, a nine-to-five activity center/day care for kids four through 12, now showcases a brand-new Nintendo game room and the addition of a children’s pool in the shape of the world’s most famous mouse!
All of the two-story, Polynesian-style villas, which house the guestrooms, sport new palapas (thatched roofs). Additionally, water babies looking for a break from the hot Mexican Caribbean sun will enjoy the 15 newly replaced beach palapas and a grand new palapa debuting at Topaz, the resort’s main restaurant.
The outdoor theatre, which is home to fun-filled nightly entertainment, welcomes new state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems and behind-the-scenes dressing rooms and make-up areas for the star-studded performers.
A new coat of warm yellow color now coats the exterior of all villas.
The snack bar now boasts 15 brand-new garden tables and 60 chairs.
“We are proud to unveil the new and improved Occidental Allegro Playacar,” says Jorn Kaae, senior vice president of Occidental Hotels & Resorts. “The resort’s new look is complemented by its location on the beautiful Caribbean Sea and is sure to delight both new and returning guests alike.”
