US Airways announced yesterday that it will introduce nonstop service between its Charlotte, N.C., hub and La Romana, the airlineå‘s third destination in the Dominican Republic.
The new service will begin on Dec. 13, 2003, and operate each Saturday using 120-seat Airbus A319 aircraft. Flights will depart Charlotte at 10:30 a.m., and will arrive in La Romana at 2:45 p.m. Return flights will depart La Romana at 4:05 p.m., and will arrive in Charlotte at 6:41 p.m.
“La Romana is home to some of the most renowned golf courses in the Caribbean, including the Teeth of the Dog at Casa de Campo,” said US Airways Vice President-International Douglas D. Leo. “This is an exciting new destination for golf enthusiasts throughout our network, as we will provide more than 75 convenient connections to this new nonstop service from Charlotte.”
Us Airways is offering an introductory special of double Dividend Miles for travel between Charlotte and La Romana, Dec. 13, 2003- March 31, 2004.
US Airways currently serves 14 destinations in the Caribbean, Latin America, Bermuda and the Bahamas from Charlotte. The airline will add flights between Charlotte and Mexico City starting Oct. 26, 2003, and between San Jose, Costa Rica, and both Charlotte and Philadelphia on Nov. 8, 2003.
