Hurricane Centre Issue Fresh Warning

On behalf of the Miami Hurricane Centre, Caribbean Weekly is releasing a warning regarding a tropical depression near the Lesser Antilles.
A TROPICAL DEPRESSION FORMS EAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES
ALL INTERESTS IN THE LESSER ANTILLES SHOULD MONITOR THE PROGRESS OF
THIS SYSTEM.

AT 5 PM AST…2100Z…THE CENTER OF NEWLY FORMED TROPICAL DEPRESSION SIX WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 12.4 NORTH…LONGITUDE 44.2 WEST OR ABOUT 1045 MILES…1685 KM…EAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES.

THE DEPRESSION IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 17 MPH…28 KM/HR. THIS MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 35 MPH… 55 KM/HR…WITH HIGHER GUSTS. THE DEPRESSION COULD BECOME A TROPICAL STORM DURING THE NEXT
24 HOURS. A RECONNAISSANCE PLANE IS SCHEDULED TO REACH THE TROPICAL CYCLONE ON MONDAY.

ESTIMATED MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE IS 1009 MB…29.80 INCHES.
