As a result of high demand, Aruba hotels - the Divi Resorts and Bucuti Beach Resort, are taking up the shovel and breaking ground for the addition of new villas. The Divi Resorts are also expanding their holiday options with a new 9-hole golf course, The Links at Divi Aruba, slated to open in March/April 2004.
The resort chain recently announced plans for the construction of the golf course, which will house two restaurants, a clubhouse and 240 new villas. The course will be open to the public with premium tee times reserved for guests of The Divi Resorts in Aruba, the Divi Village Beach Resort, Divi Aruba Phoenix Beach Resort, and Divi Dutch Village Beach Resort, as well as affiliate properties Divi Aruba and Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusives.
The course will have two par 5 holes, two par 3 holes and five par 4 holes, with three tee boxes per hole and distance markers at 150 and 200 yards. There will be a golf school that includes a swing analysis station, driving range and chipping and bunker practice areas. Professional golf lessons for groups and individuals will also be available.
The villa buildings, the first 52 units, which are expected to open in September 2004, will feature studios, one- and two-bedroom suites with large screen televisions, Jacuzzi tubs and designer furnishings.
The Bucuti Beach Resort is also adding luxurious villas to its complex. The Tara Beach Suites, scheduled to open in March 2004, will feature 39 new stylish rooms with king beds and oceanfront views. The suites feature in-room Internet service, a large balcony, microwave, living room with separate bedrooms, as well as the standard resort amenities - ceiling fans, mini-bar, in-room safe, iron/board, hair dryer and the renown Aruba Aloe products. Tara guests receive the additional luxury of a separate reception area and concierge lounge.
The Bucuti Beach Resort has set up a web cam so potential clients can follow the progress of construction on the Tara Beach Suites. To sneak a peek, visit http://www.bucuti.com/english/tara/index.htm. The site updates live pictures every two minutes.
