As Caribbean Week continues in NY certain restaurants of the city are offering up flavoursome fodder to tantalise the taste buds of visitors.
The following restaurants have agreed to offer discounts or special Caribbean fare in celebration of Caribbean Week.
Justin’s Bar & Restaurant: 31 West 21st Street - will offer a 15 percent discount between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and a 10 percent discount after 7:00 p.m. for the duration of Caribbean Week.
La Taza de Oro: 96 Eight Avenue - will provide a 10 percent discount for the duration of Caribbean Week.
Daphne’s Caribbean Express: 233 East 14th Street - will provide a 10 percent discount for the duration of Caribbean Week.
Cucina & Co.: Macy’s Herald Square, 151 West 34th Street -
will be offering special Caribbean fare on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 and Thursday, June 5, 2003 (in conjunction with food demonstrations by Caribbean chefs taking place in Macy’s Cellar).
Nadine’s Bank Street Bar & Bistro: 99 Bank Street—will be offering special Caribbean fare each day for the duration of Caribbean Week.
“These restaurants are pleased to bring a little piece of the Caribbean to New York City,” said Hugh Riley, CTO’s director of marketing for the Americas. “We hope that this joint venture will drive more business through their doors as well as raise awareness of the Caribbean’s culture and flavors,” added Riley.
Also as part of Caribbean Week New York the Aruba
Tourism Authority is inviting visitors to experience why Aruba is coined “where happiness lives”. The Caribbean Fair begins at 11 A.M. on June 2nd with an enchanting array of Aruban-style delights, colors, sights, sounds, and tastes.
Scheduled to perform are the rhythmic Aruba Happy Band and Carnival dancers: Jolanda Salas and Junior Tromp, who are former Mr. And Ms. Teen Aruba. Also, Jaap Ellis, celebrity chef, will be there to share his culinary expertise.
