This is an unprecedented time and while it is too soon to understand the full implications on our industry, there can be no doubt that concern about travel will not dissipate even with an obvious conclusion in Iraq. It would be easy to speculate, but the real work at hand is in assuring travelers that our resorts in the Caribbean are close to home, welcoming to U.S. citizens and flexible in terms of cancellations and rescheduling.
There is reason to be optimistic.Ê Sandals and Beaches Resorts have had no cancellations.Ê Our Jamaican resorts report occupancies in the 90s and long and short-term bookings remain on pace. And in a spirit that shows nothing can stop love - 300 couples recently took part in our annual “Test Drive Your Honeymoon” trip, enjoying a day of fun and sun at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort and Spa in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Recent surveys show that, contrary to popular belief, many Americans are eager to travel and as we gear up for spring break, summer vacationing and the traditional honeymoon season, here are some of the things we will be doing to assure pleasant and hassle-free vacations for you and your clients:
áÊRe-enforce and administer our Sandals and Beaches Visitor Assurance Program, allowing guests to reschedule at anytime, up to one year, with no penalties. This will also include complimentary three-night stays, if air travel is compromised while at any of our resorts.
