Dolphin Lagoon set to open in February at Half Moon
Guests at the magnificent Half Moon Jamaica will now be able to experience the thrill of getting to know the dolphins at the resortå‘s new Dolphin Lagoon, a large natural pool in a cove near Sunrise Beach.
These programs represent an opportunity to come into contact with dolphins in their natural environment and to see up close their joy and serenity. The experience begins with a brief orientation so participants can learn about the behavior of dolphins and how the trainers communicate with them through hand signals. A trainer will then ‘introduce’ the guests to the dolphins in preparation of their adventure.
Two programs are available:
The “Swim With”
enables guests to swim with two dolphins and enjoy activities such as dolphin kiss or maybe a dorsal pull. The cost is $145 per person.
The “Swim Encounter”
allows guests to interact with one dolphin and provides the opportunity to make friends and get a dolphin kiss while standing in the shallows. The cost is $79 per person.
For both programs, guests must be able to swim, be older than eight years of age and women must not be pregnant.
Half Moon’s
Dolphin Program is offered daily to guests at Half Moon at four sessions starting at 9.30 am, 11.30 am, 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm. Reservations may be made for the program before arrival at Half Moon or on-site.
