US Airways Begins Philly-Grenada Service

ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 20, 2002—US Airways will begin nonstop service tomorrow between its Philadelphia hub and the Caribbean island of Grenada.


The new flights will operate between Philadelphia and Grenada each Saturday using Airbus A319 aircraft. The flights will depart Philadelphia at 9:45 a.m., and will arrive in Grenada at 3:38 p.m. Return flights will depart Grenada at 4:40 p.m., and will arrive in Philadelphia at 8:32 p.m.


The new route, Philadelphia’s 16th to the Caribbean, increases US Airways’ overall Caribbean network to 21 jet destinations. Additional Caribbean points are served by the US Airways Express carriers.


“This new route to the ‘spice island’ of Grenada rounds out a year of Caribbean growth for our company,” said Douglas Leo, US Airways vice president of international. “We are pleased to add Grenada to our network, as well as bring extensive U.S. access to the Eastern Caribbean via our Philadelphia hub.”
