US Airways Discounts on Caribbean Flights

As Americans return from their Thanksgiving celebrations pledging to plan a winter getaway, US Airways and Visa are offering the perfect opportunity to do just that. Visa is sponsoring a special US Airways sale to over 30 warm weather destinations in the Caribbean, Florida, Arizona and Southern California.

“Nothing compares to taking a memorable vacation for some fun in the sun this time of year,” said Stephen M. Usery, US Airways vice president of marketing and revenue management. “US Airways is very appreciative of Visa’s sponsorship of this special warm weather sale and we encourage all of our customers to use their Visa card when booking travel to these and other exciting vacation spots.”

Under this sale, tickets must be purchased roundtrip at least three days before departure for Caribbean travel, and for U.S. destinations at least seven days before departure. The last travel date is Feb. 28, 2003 for all markets except to and from Florida, for which the last travel date is Feb.11, 2003. Tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making reservation and by midnight, Eastern time, Dec. 9, 2002. A Saturday night stay is required and a maximum 30-day stay is allowed.

Tickets become nonrefundable 24 hours after making initial reservations and under certain conditions can be changed for a minimum $100 fee, plus the difference between the two fares, if applicable. Holiday blackout dates apply Dec. 20-23, 2002 and Feb. 14-16, 2003 for travel from the U.S. to Caribbean, and Jan. 1-5 and Feb. 22-24 for travel from the Caribbean to the U.S.

These sale fares do not include up to $18 airport passenger facility charges where applicable, and do not include federal excise tax of $3, which will be added on each flight segment of each itinerary. A flight segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. The fares listed also do not include the September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per itinerary. Caribbean fares do not include government-imposed taxes, fees and surcharges of up to $89. Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights at all times. Other conditions may apply and schedules are subject to change. Lower fares may be available in some markets.
