Brac Bash 2002:
The Brac Bash weekend of excitement gets underway
Sept 13-15 with a welcome party at Brac Reef Hotel.
On Sept 14, this fun-filled event will feature a 5-aside
football tournament, the Cayman Brac Cook-off at the
Public Beach, plus another party with live music by
Safari. Sept 15 is a free day for snorkeling, diving or
to simply relax.

Cayman Airways special fare is US$82.

CITA Holds General Meeting:
The Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA)
invites all members to its next quarterly General
Meeting to be held on September 10, 2002 from 3pm
at the Marriott Beach Resort.

The agenda includes updates from all CITA
sectors, including hotels, condos, watersports,
restaurants, and transportation, a brief address by the
Minister of Tourism, the Hon. McKeeva Bush as well
as a presentation by the Executive Director of the
Quincentennial Celebrations Program, Angela
Martins. Mrs. Martins will share the latest
developments and resulting opportunities of the
quincentennial celebrations program to the CITA
members. Mrs. Lania Rittenhouse, Director of
Tourism has also been invited to share DoT’s plans
for promoting the quincentennial events

New GM for Lacovia Condos:
Karie Bergstrom has been appointed the new General
Manager for Lacovia Condominiums. She recently
returned home from the US where she worked for the
last five years with Kimberly-Clark Corporation in
Neenah, Wisconsin. While at Kimberly-Clark, Karie
worked in Financial Recruiting, Career Development
and Training, hiring and training Financial Analysts for all the manufacturing sites and business units across
the US. During her time in the US she also earned
her B.B.A. degree in Human Resource Management
with honors from Marian College in Wisconsin. Karie
has previously managed other properties on the
Seven Mile Beach and was the Training Manager at
Hyatt, Grand Cayman before leaving for the US.
