Cayman Brac Launches Websites

Cayman Brac has launched the island’s first official
nature website - www.naturecayman.com - the first phase of a new initiative to encourage nature tourism
in the Sister Islands. The Little Cayman section will
be activated as part of the second phase. For the last
four years the District Administration has been
developing the infrastructure for nature tourism on
Cayman Brac and the project is now ready for
worldwide publicity.

The website, commissioned by the government of the Cayman Islands was developed by
Brac Informatics Centre (BIC) in conjunction with 141
Communicator/Atlanta. It provides expert write-ups
from locals on the island, “Brac Facts,” bird and diving information, trip planning, and island news and events. Visitors to the site can even register to “Win a Week
on the Brac.” The second phase of the website,
scheduled to launch this summer, will offer
membership opportunities to those who register, with
exclusive access to email newsletters, message boards, giveaways and online photo galleries.

According to Kenny Ryan, District
Commissioner of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman,
“The site was designed not only to educate potential
tourists about the area, but to invite them to Cayman
Brac to enjoy its beauty and abundant amenities.
When they visit the website, users will enjoy stunning
photography, online promotions with grand prizes,
travel discounts, and more.”

Similarly, www.thebrac.com was recently launched
and, according to the developers is believed to the
largest and most complete source for information on
Cayman Brac from the Internet. So far, over 24,000
hits have been reported.
