Carribbean Star Airlines strikes gold at BVI Music Festival

May 2002 will mark the 2nd Annual B.V.I Music Festival on Cane Garden Bay Beach, Tortola, B.V.I. and Caribbean Star Airlines has once again shown its support of regional culture by becoming a sponsor of this event. Last year, this festival featured headliners
such as Maxi Priest and Jon Lucien along with many other local and regional acts. This year however, music fans can look forward to four international headliners including Steel Pulse, Freddie McGregor and Regina Belle.


Caribbean Star Airlines Marketing Director Sandra Scotland, last month signed a contract with the BVI Music Festival Committee making the airline a Gold sponsor and the official carrier of this prestigious Caribbean event. Chairman of the Festival Committee,
Frank Mahoney says, “there is no better place to be on this full moon weekend!”


Caribbean Star was also a Silver sponsor of the B.V.I Spring Regatta, which was held at Nanny Cays last weekend. The airline presently flies to 13 Caribbean destinations including Guyana, South America, and Scotland says that sponsorship is very high on the airline`s agenda in every island to which it flies.


According to Scotland, Caribbean Star was heavily involved in Trinidad and Guyana Carnival, and is committed to St. Lucia Jazz, Grenada Spice Jazz Festival, the St. Lucia Comedy Festival, Fire and Ash Fashion Week in Barbados, the Bequia Sailing Festival,
Barbados Domino Competition and many more regional events taking place this year.


Paul Moreira, the airline`s President and CEO says that the airline`s affordable fares, and its Star Vacations Packages which will be launched in April is designed to put the fun back in regional travel. Recently, Caribbean Star launched a regional media campaign called `Catch the Star` offering the lowest possible fares for passengers moving around the islands. The airline`s Reservations Department reports that the campaign must have caught the attention of travellers because flights are booked solid for the next two weeks!

Scotland says the airline will soon be offering its most exciting product - Star Vacations. While it has not been officially launched, vacation packages can be booked by calling the toll free number 1-800-744-STAR. Packages will be available to all Caribbean Star
destinations allowing passengers the ease and convenience of booking all-inclusive packages for holidays, honeymoons, carnivals, cricket and other special events and occasions.


Music fans going to Tortola in May for the Festival can treat themselves not only to the finest in music but to a Star Vacations package which will check them into some off the islands` most beautiful hotels and resorts including Nanny Cay Resort, Lambert Beach and Mariners Moorings.
