DALLAS - Rosewood Hotels & Resorts announced recently it will assume management of the exclusive private island hideaway, Jumby Bay, Antigua. The announcement was made jointly by Jim Brown, President of Rosewood Hotels & Resorts and Roland Franklin, Director of Jumby Bay Island Company.
The 39-room property will immediately undergo a $2.5 million-plus refurbishment scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Dan Reid, formerly with the Amanusa resort in Bali, has been named managing director of Jumby Bay, effective May 15. Reid has worked previously in Antigua and brings extensive Caribbean experience to his post.
“We look forward to our new partnership with this well-regarded and highly established Caribbean island resort. It will nicely complement our properties nearby - Little Dix Bay and Caneel Bay,” said Rosewood President Jim Brown.
“With Rosewood’s award-winning reputation for managing ultra-luxury boutique properties, we believe we are with a company that will bring all the design, cuisine and service standards critical to a five-star operation,” said Roland Franklin.
