US Airways to Reach E-Savers Milestone - 1 Millionth Customer - Winner Goes to the Caribbean

US Airways is about to reach another E-Savers milestone in the next few weeks when one of its weekend travelers becomes its 1 millionth E-Savers customer. Currently, more than 2.4 million people have registered to receive the weekly E-Savers low-fare notifications.

To celebrate this milestone, US Airways will award the 1 millionth E-Savers customer a Caribbean escape for two. The vacation includes roundtrip First Class travel on US Airways to Barbados, transfers to Palm Island, The Grenadines, in the West Indies, and beachfront accommodations for eight days and seven nights at the resort.

“Our popular E-Savers program has created a distinctive group of travelers. These are people ready to travel at a moment’s notice, whether to visit family and friends, or to go to great destinations in Europe and the Caribbean,” said Stephen M. Usery, US Airways vice president of marketing and revenue management. “We are pleased that so many people continue to take advantage of these low-fare offerings and we look forward to meeting our 1 millionth E-Savers customer and awarding this exclusive getaway.”

“We are delighted to join with US Airways in this unique offer. Palm Island is a first-class resort and a vacation paradise known for its serenity and luxury,” said Steven E. Heydt, president and chief operating officer, Antigua Resorts and Palm Island. “With only 40 bungalows and four primitively elegant island lofts, this secret gem is the ideal destination for US Airways’ spur-of-the-moment voyagers.”

US Airways began the E-Savers program in July 1996 and today offers subscribers weekly special discounts for travel to select destinations in the U.S. and Canada.

For travel within the U.S., registrants receive a list of nonstop US Airways discount markets by electronic mail each Wednesday. Travel must begin the following Saturday, with a return on the next Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Fares have ranged from $69 to $299 roundtrip.

US Airways also frequently offers Europe, Canada and Caribbean E-Savers fares. Transatlantic fares from Philadelphia have been as low as $206 roundtrip, and the price of a ticket to the Caribbean from Charlotte has been as low as $199 roundtrip. Canadian fares have been priced as low as $99 roundtrip.

Upon receipt of the E-Savers notification, reservations can be made online at usairways.com, or by calling the special E-Savers toll free number—1-888-FLY-E-SAVERS (1-888-359-3728)—and asking for the specific E-Savers discount advertised in the electronic mail notification.

US Airways’ E-Savers tickets must be purchased at the time the reservation is made. These limited special discounted fares require roundtrip travel and tickets become nonrefundable 24 hours after making an initial reservation.

For the Caribbean escape package awarded to the 1 millionth customer, travel will be valid for one year from the date the award is issued. The estimated fair market value of the award is $8,300. US Airways will pay all government-imposed taxes, fees and surcharges for the 1 millionth customer. The award is void in states where such promotions are prohibited. US Airways employees and immediate family are not eligible to win. The recipient will be required to sign a publicity release for US Airways’ use in connection with the promotion.
