Weather trading and weather risk management is finally getting a grip in Europe, with more meteorological data available and an increasing number of exchanges, traders and brokers specialising in weather derivatives.
70% of European businesses are affected by the weather, and more and more companies are finding out how to offset their risk and turn it into profit. Those who haven’t need to do so - and fast. Particularly at risk are companies in the travel, transport, food & beverage, agriculture, energy, tourism and construction industries.
With this in mind, Eyeforenergy has organised a ground breaking new event: Weather Trading Europe 2002, taking place 19-21 February at The Hotel Okura, Amsterdam.
Delegates will hear expert opinion and analysis from these speakers:
Joaquin Narro, Weather Trader, Aquila; Cindy Dawes, Managing Director, weatherXchange; Pascal Mailier, Meteorologist, Aquila; Nick Mooney, CEO, I-Wex; Malcolm Wall Morris, Project Manager, LIFFE; Nick Ward, Head of New Markets, Spectron; Tom Fletcher, Manager Weather Trading, Mirant; Frederic Hervouet, International Sales Manager, Systeia Capital Management; Markus Hartwig, Market Analyst, Bewag; Gearoid Lane, Head of Electricity Supplies, Centrica; Peter Brewer, Manager Risk Origination, Aquila; Julian Roberts, Director, Aon Capital Markets; Dr. Stephen Jewson, Director of Business Development, Risk Management Solutions; David Radulski, Vice President, Element Re; David Pethick, Senior Quantitative Analyst, Entergy-Koch Trading Ltd; Mario Rohrer, Board Member, Meteo Dat.
Weather Trading Europe 2002 is being co-located with two other Eyeforenergy conferences, Energy Exchanges Online Europe 2002 and Emissions Trading Europe 2002. The three individually focused programmes will share one exhibition and networking social agenda, and delegates registered for one will be able to attend sessions in all three at no extra cost.
